This Privacy Policy explains how California Loans for Heroes, a DBA of Qualified Financial Inc. (“Qualified Financial,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit caloansforheroes.com (the “Site”) or request information about our mortgage programs.
Qualified Financial Inc. is a licensed California mortgage broker: CA DRE Broker License #02194854, NMLS #2439105, DFPI #60197466. We are an Equal Housing Lender. We are independently owned and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), or any federal, state, or local government agency.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you submit our eligibility form, contact us, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:
- Identifiers and contact data: name, email address, telephone number, and mailing or property address.
- Eligibility and mortgage-related data: occupation or hero category, employment information, approximate income, estimated credit profile, down payment funds, property type, purchase price or loan amount, timeline, and current homeownership status.
- Communications: the content of messages, form submissions, and call notes.
What our eligibility form does not require. The eligibility form on this Site is not a loan application. It does not require your Social Security number, and submitting it does not authorize a credit inquiry. If you later choose to proceed with an actual mortgage application, you will be asked to provide additional information — including information necessary to verify identity, income, assets, and credit — under a separate authorization and a separate privacy notice.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our analytics and advertising providers may collect IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, time on page, and similar usage data through cookies, pixels, tags, and comparable technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To evaluate your potential eligibility for the mortgage and homebuyer programs described on this Site.
- To respond to your inquiries and contact you about mortgage and real estate–related services you requested.
- To match you with loan programs and, where relevant, with participating lenders and real estate professionals.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To measure the performance of our marketing and understand how visitors use the Site.
- To comply with applicable federal and state lending, licensing, advertising, and recordkeeping requirements.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or misuse.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, to deliver the services you request, your information is shared in the circumstances described below. Please read this section carefully.
- Wholesale lenders and investors. As a mortgage broker, Qualified Financial Inc. works with wholesale lending partners. To obtain pricing, program eligibility, or a loan decision, we share the information necessary to do so.
- Participating real estate professionals. Certain programs, incentives, and rewards described on this Site require that you be represented by a real estate professional within the California Loans for Heroes network. If you request those benefits, we share your contact information and stated home-search criteria with a participating agent so they can contact you.
- Service providers. Vendors who perform services for us — including website hosting, customer relationship management, lead routing, telephony and text messaging, email delivery, analytics, and marketing — process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and use restrictions.
- Legal and protective disclosures. Where required by law, subpoena, regulator, or lawful request, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Qualified Financial Inc., our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Where we share personal information with an advertising or analytics partner in a way that constitutes “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, you may opt out as described in Section 7.
4. Consent to Be Contacted
When you submit a form on this Site, you authorize California Loans for Heroes, Qualified Financial Inc., and participating real estate professionals to contact you about mortgage and real estate–related services by telephone, text message, and email, including through automated technology where permitted by law. Consent is not a condition of obtaining any service, loan, or program.
You may withdraw consent at any time: reply STOP to any text message, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or call us at (866) 374-4040. Message and data rates may apply. We may still send you non-marketing messages related to a transaction you have initiated.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site functioning, remember preferences, measure traffic, and evaluate marketing performance. This includes third-party analytics and advertising services, which set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy policies.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Some parts of the Site may not function properly if you disable cookies. Where required, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out of sale or sharing.
6. Financial Privacy (GLBA)
If you become our customer or apply for a mortgage loan through us, the nonpublic personal financial information you provide is also protected under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and its implementing regulations, and you will receive a separate GLBA privacy notice describing our information-sharing practices and any applicable opt-out rights at that time. Information subject to GLBA is exempt from certain provisions of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as described below.
7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of parties to whom it is disclosed.
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information, subject to legal and regulatory retention obligations.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Important limitation: personal information we collect, process, or disclose in connection with a mortgage loan or loan application is generally subject to the GLBA and the California Financial Information Privacy Act, and is therefore exempt from many CCPA/CPRA rights. These rights generally apply to information collected from Site visitors outside of a loan file.
How to submit a request. Call (866) 374-4040 or use the contact form on this Site. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline requests where an exemption applies. You may designate an authorized agent to act for you with proof of authorization.
8. Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send Social Security numbers, account numbers, or other sensitive financial data by unsecured email.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy and to satisfy legal, licensing, tax, audit, and recordkeeping obligations applicable to California mortgage brokers, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
10. Third-Party Websites
The Site links to third-party resources, including government sites such as VA.gov, HUD.gov, FHFA.gov, and CalHFA.ca.gov. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Their policies govern your use of them.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it. A parent or guardian may contact us at (866) 374-4040 to request deletion.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
